In-Person Lesson
Sunday, 10-18-20
Following the lead of the Fort Lee Public School System, on Sunday, October 18, we are going to have our "first day" of in-person lessons at Fort Lee School of Music. As with the public schools, this will only be open to students under the age of 12, who are opting for in-person lessons, and with teachers who are comfortable teaching. To add your name to the list, complete this online form before Monday, October 12. Click here to read our safety policy.
This is a trial for us to observe the feasibility of safety measures, social distancing, and general student behavior. This is also a chance to give the younger students — who really need social interaction in these critical formative years — a chance to get out and see their teachers whom they miss so much!
We will begin with one Sunday, observe, and then schedule another Sunday. And so forth until things are safe enough to resume in-person lessons on a regular basis. We will rotate between students and teachers giving everyone who wants to participate a chance, beginning with the youngest students and working our way up.
Please note that in-person lessons are completely optional. We are doing our best to ensure the safety of all our students and faculty, but can not guarantee that any safety measure will be 100% effective. If you have any doubts, concerns, or medical conditions, we encourage you to continue with your online lessons as you have been. Due to the unpredictable nature of the virus, if the situation changes we may need to adjust, change, or cancel the in-person lessons.
